Smart Thermostats

Smart homes are becoming popular and with the rising cost of fuel the increased efficiency coupled with the convenience factor of smart thermostats makes them a great investment! There are several options available with various pros and cons so it’s definitely worth doing your research before making a decision to have one installed. Two popular options are the Nest Learning Thermostat by Google and Hive Active Heating by British Gas (these are affiliate links and we earn a small amount of commission if they’re used for purchases). The energy savings of the Nest Learning Thermostat in the UK and Ireland have been studied and the results suggest that you could save 8.4%-16.5% on your energy bill. I can supply and fit both Nest Learning Thermostats and Hive Active Heating systems. Also if you’d prefer a more comprehensive system that can manage up to 12 separate zones another option is the Honeywell Evohome. It allows control of the temperature in each individual room using a smart TRV on every radiator. Honeywell aren’t new to the central heating control game they’ve been making programmers and thermostats for many years already so when they say zone heating is the most efficient method I’m inclined to believe them. According to them thier Evohome system can cut your heating bills by up to 40% annually meaning the system should pay for itself in 2.5 years. I offer different levels of emergency callout, all with fair charges.

Immediate – for a full emergency I aim to attend immediately.
Priority – attending ASAP hopefully within 24-48 hours.
Normal – non-emergency callouts I aim to attend within a week.

Leaks can be the cause of expensive and unsightly damage to your home. Smaller areas of damp might not seem like a major problem but the longer you leave them the more extensive the damage becomes and repair will become more difficult. Sealant Replacement

As silicone sealant around your bath and shower gets old it often goes mouldy and looks horrible and starts to fail. As a result water gets past causing damp walls and ceilings or even more serious leaks. I can come and remove your old sealant and replace it with a neat new application of anti-mould silicone to give your shower or bath a new lease of life.
